Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data Retention Edge (retentionedge.co) collects when you read the site, subscribe to the newsletter or get in touch, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Who we are
Retention Edge is published by Fifty Pixels Ltd, trading as MobiLoud (“we”, “us”), 209 High Road, London N2 8AN, United Kingdom. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Questions about this policy or your data go to privacy@mobiloud.com.
This policy covers Retention Edge only. MobiLoud’s products and website have their own privacy policy.
What we collect and why
Newsletter
When you subscribe, we collect your email address and use it to send you the Retention Edge newsletter. The newsletter runs on beehiiv, which stores your address and tells us whether emails are delivered and opened. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all further emails.
Contact form
When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message, and use them only to reply to you. The form is delivered to our inbox by Web3Forms.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles and episodes people read, how they found them and roughly where they are. It records the pages you visit, the site that referred you, your device and browser type and your approximate location. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. We have turned off Google’s advertising features, so this data is not used for ads or ad personalization.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, Google Analytics sets no cookies unless you accept them in the banner we show you. Elsewhere it is on by default. Wherever you are, you can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Podcast players and newsletter form
Episode pages and some articles embed players from Spotify and YouTube (through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode), and the newsletter sign-up form is served by beehiiv. These load from those services and are covered by their own privacy policies: Spotify, Google (YouTube) and beehiiv.
Hosting and security
The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
Cookies
These are the cookies and browser storage Retention Edge itself uses.

Spotify, YouTube and beehiiv may set their own cookies when their players or forms load, and Cloudflare may set short-lived cookies needed for security. Declining analytics in Cookie settings removes the Google Analytics cookies.
Legal bases
Under the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, we rely on your consent to send the newsletter and, in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, to run analytics. We rely on our legitimate interests to reply to messages, keep the site secure and, in other regions, understand how the site is used.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. The services named above process it on our behalf, under contracts that limit them to providing their service. Some of them are in the United States. Where data leaves the UK or the EEA, those transfers are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Contact messages: as long as the conversation needs, and no more than two years.
- Analytics: no more than 14 months, after which Google deletes the detailed data.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, and ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email privacy@mobiloud.com and we will reply within one month.
You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in the EU, the authority where you live. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know, delete and correct the personal information we hold about you. We do not sell or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Children
Retention Edge is written for people working in ecommerce. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
